YouTube AI Policy Says Goodbye to AI “Slop”: Now Only Original Artists Will Be Heard!
YouTube has officially announced that from **15th July 2025**, monetization of “inauthentic” AI-generated videos will stop. Youtube AI Policy This is not just against AI, but a tremendous move to promote real, original content on the platform. As a DJ-Producer who releases a new track every month, I think YouTube has finally dropped a solid beat for real artists.
đź’Ą What is the new youtube AI policy?
YouTube will now stop monetizing creators who upload large volumes of, low-effort content by abusing AI tools. But remember – the use of AI is still **allowable**, just with human input, creativity, and originality.
The main goal of this move is to:
- Highlight original content
- Provide a better experience to viewers
- Reward real creators
🧠“AI Slop” is now out of sync
YouTube has been flooded with low-effort, repetitive AI content – what people are calling **“AI Slop”**. These are videos with a static image, an AI-generated beat playing in the background, and no real human touch.
The result? Content from real creators gets drowned out. Viewers get bored too.
But now YouTube is saying – “Enough is enough.”

🎯 What is the goal?
Rene Ritchie (YouTube’s Head of Creator Liaison) clarified that this policy is an upgrade from the old guidelines. Reviewers now have better tools to easily identify spammy AI content.
YouTube will stop monetizing channels with:
- Factory-style videos that repeat the same template
- Text-to-video tools without human editing or synthetic voiceover
- Only AI music uploads with static images
- AI animations without significant direction
Channels with these will not receive monetization unless they remove or improve the content.

âś… How to save monetization?
If you use AI creatively, don’t stress! YouTube is clearly saying:
“AI-assisted content is fine, but human input is required.”
Follow these tips:
- Add commentary or personal insight to your videos.
- Show clips from studio sessions or BTS (Behind the Scenes) of the creative process.
- Use kinetic typography or creative visuals for lyrics.
- Create a short intro video explaining the inspiration behind the track.
- Use AI, but as an owner – not an assistant!
Also, if you use generative AI, disclosure is a must – transparency is now part of trust.
⚖️ The AI Ethics Scene
While YouTube is promoting creativity and authenticity, platforms like Spotify are going the other way. Spotify CEO Daniel Ek has invested €600 million in a military AI company (Helsing) that makes AI drones and fighter jet technology.
This now begs the question – should we support a platform where AI is being used not for art, but for war?
🎧 Originality is the new algorithm
YouTube’s move sends a clear message:
“The real value is in human creativity – not just volume and automation.”
AI is a tool – it will help create melodies, suggest beats, but the feeling and soul is put in by the artist.
So let’s create new tracks with modern tools – but with real passion!
